Is there a way to save settings (ie. the layout of the quick access toolbar) so different users who share a computer can retain their prefered settings?

To save the Quick Access toolbar settings, you need to locate and save the settings file in a location different than the default location. The file extension is qat. Search for this extension in Windows Explorer, or follow the path below - and copy all the qat files to another folder. Each Office 2007 program has its own file. Whenever you need to reset your toolbar, copy the qat files from the folder you created to the path below.

For Windows Vista and 7, the path is: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office, where username is your username.
