It seems the phrase "In These Economic Times" precedes most sentences lately.
For Sector, most of our business comes from BC Government so a tightening of those belts effects us directly. However, I am excited about the opportunities "these economic times" may bring. As people need to work more efficiently and get "more done with less", training and technology are key.
As companies and Government offices face financial challenges, they will want to hold on to their key people and ensure they have the skills needed to be productive: again training and course development is key.
As budgets tighten, the importance of using Live Meeting and SharePoint to reduce travel cost and improve team communication and project results, becomes very important indeed.
And now that business is slower (for some organizations), this affords a good time to get a away, train, build skills, or develop courses, so when the Economy ramps up again, you are ready to fly.
And the Economy will ramp up again. It always does. The questions is "when". But I believe those companies that can weather this storm will come out stronger, more focussed, and better able to enjoy to a new Economy of plenty and prosperity.
