Building human capability to produce positive change in organizations and the world | |
|
SharePoint 2010 and Beyond
Hi Gerry,
We've been training SharePoint administrators for quite a few years now, and have had great success in fulfilling our mission of building human capability to produce positive change in organizations. However, there has been a piece missing for me and I think we might have a solution.

Instructor's Tip
Making an Event 'Private' in your Outlook Calendar
Sharing your Outlook Calendar with colleagues is a great way to plan meetings and check availability.
But if you also use Outlook for personal organization, it comes at a price - everyone can see when little Timmy has a softball game or when you have a doctor's appointment.
Not to worry, there's a function for that.
Function:
Setting privacy settings for an item in your Outlook Calendar. Location: Appointment Ribbon
Keyboard Shortcut: Select Appointment then Ctrl + O
How to: 1. Open the appointment
2. On the Ribbon at the top of the page, click the 'Private' button.
Now your appointment appears in your calendar with the padlock symbol in the lower right corner.
You can see all the details, but colleagues sharing your calendar can only see that the time is blocked off, not the details of the appointment.
-This tip was brought you by Sector's Chris Motherwell.
