Windows Aero Graphical Interface

One thing that new Vista users notice is an increase in the graphical features that make the operating system easier to use and overall more appealing to the eye. Notice the shading on buttons and menu bars, transparency on windows and menus, more and better screen backgrounds, optional animations as windows open and close, etc. These settings are available through Start > Control Panel > Personalization. Many of the graphical features are encompassed in what is referred to as “Windows Aero”

Quick Tip: You have several programs open on your desktop and want to switch to a different one. How?

Steps:

  1. Traditionally in Windows you would use <ALT> + <TAB> to scroll through windows; Try this now. When you release the <Tab> key, the selected window becomes active. Notice Aero gives you a graphical representation of the window, not just an icon.

  1. In Windows Aero, you can also click the Aero button in the Quick Launch
